Do Lions hunt Elephants?

August 31, 2022

The answer is interestingly, Yes! Is it common? The answer is No. But in Nature, things are never set in stone and animals adapt to survive and thrive in the land they live in. In recent months, the strong and fierce River Pride has adapted to killing Elephants. The most recent one was an adult cow, and it is the fourth reported kill in just over twelve months. With the pride as big as the River pride, there are plenty of hungry lions to feed, but they have also become a formidable force that seem to have developed a skillset of hunting Elephants. This is not completely unusual. There have been reports of a pride of Lion in the Savuti region of Chobe National Park in Botswana, who have also learned to kill adult Elephants.
